Gastric Sleeve Diet Stages — Gold Coast

Clear, step-by-step diet progression after sleeve: fluids, purees, soft foods and a safe return to regular textures.

  • Weeks 0–2: Fluids — water, broth, sugar-free drinks, protein shakes as advised.
  • Weeks 2–4: Purees — smooth soups, yoghurt, pureed lean protein.
  • Week 4+: Soft → Regular — tender meats, soft veg, then gradual return to regular textures.
  • Protein: prioritise at every meal; use prescribed supplements if needed.
  • Hydration: frequent small sips; aim ≥ 1.5–2.0 L/day unless advised otherwise.
  • Eating technique: small bites, chew well, pause between mouthfuls.
  • Avoid carbonated drinks and alcohol during early recovery.
  • Separate fluids and solids by ~30 minutes to reduce discomfort.
  • If nausea or intolerance occurs, step back a stage and re-try slowly.
